This camp is tailored for current competitive players who are entering grades 9-12 this upcoming season and are serious about playing basketball at the next level. The focus of this camp will be tailored to providing players with exposure to higher level basketball concepts used at the university and professional level. Players attending this camp will be given the opportunity to learn and compete against top level competition. Which will allow them to identify their strengths and weaknesses while also receiving personalized feedback and ideas on how to expand their game over the remainder of the summer from our coaches.

Our staff is comprised of current women's professional and USports basketball players who are from Kingston and the surrounding area. Our staff looks forwards to using their basketball knowledge to give back to the Kingston basketball community and provide players with an inside look at what it takes to play at the next level.

FAQs

Who is this camp for?

This camp is for current competitive basketball players entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2024.

What does the camp schedule look like?

The first half of the morning will focus on all-around skill development. Players will spend the morning working through skill stations focussed on specific skills lead by our head coaches. We will then take a break and watch film that will introduce the concepts we are focussing on in our small sided games. Following lunch we will have our daily guest speaker talk and work with campers on a concept of their choosing before finishing off the day with 5on5 games.

Do players receive anything from camp?

Players will receive a reversible jersey and a detailed report card from their head coach evaluating their game with areas for improvement.

What makes this camp different from other camps?

This camp is not your typical "baby sitting" basketball camp where we roll the balls out and let campers play unorganized basketball. Athlete's are expected to compete in everything we do and to play within the concepts shown to them. These concepts may not come naturally and we expect athlete's to struggle while learning and applying them.

What position is this camp best suited for?

Basketball is a positionless game at the highest levels. Players will have roles to play on every team they play on, but all players should work on their game so they have the skills and abilities to play in multiple positions and scenarios. Care less about what position you are playing and more on being on the floor when the game matters.

I'm concerned about my child playing against players that are 3-4 years older than them

The best way for young players to grow is to be exposed to other players who are better than them. When you are undersized and less skilled than your competition you have to come up with other strategies to impact winning. Developing these skills at a young age sets you up well for when you are the older player and makes you a more well rounded player. Playing against older players is an excellent opportunity to do this.
