Summer Playing Foundations

Registration can be found below

Program Operation Dates: May 4th, 2026 - June 11th, 2026

Our Playing Foundations Program places an emphasis on an individual players understanding of how to best play in a team setting - providing athletes with the space and time to deepen their understanding of the details that go into proper offensive spacing, how to read and react to defence, and when they can find their individual scoring opportunities within the flow of the game! Athletes will have the opportunity to develop the situational awareness needed to succeed in actions commonly seen in todays game. These actions will be introduced in a controlled setting before athletes have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in small sided 3on3 games. Each training session will have a different point of emphasis and the situations/actions we work on will build into our small sided games for the evening.

Please make sure that your child is registered for a training session aligned with their current skill level.

Sessions labeled "DEVELOPMENT" are for athletes who are not currently playing for a competitive team and may be experimenting with basketball for the first time.

Sessions labeled "COMPETITIVE" are for athletes who are currently playing for a competitive team (ie. Kingston Impact, Brockville Blazers, Belleville Spirits, etc.).

If you feel that your child should be participating in the competitive stream despite not meeting the necessary requirements please reach out to Connor via email at info@yxubasketball.com.

*** Please note that the Monday night groups will run for 5 weeks instead of 6 weeks due to the Victoria Day Holiday on May 18th! ***
